The Ivinson Mansion is the museum’s largest artifact, with approximately 9,000 square feet displayed across three levels. Edward and Jane Ivinson built the three-story Queen Anne Victorian mansion in 1892, and the museum has been based there since 1973.

Inside, the collections bring together Victorian fixtures and furnishings, historic textiles and clothing, and memorabilia connected to early Laramie and ranch history. On the first floor, the Drawing Room, Smoking Room and Foyer are among the featured rooms. The third-floor Main Room turns to ranch history, Plains Indian artifacts and a line cabin.

The museum also has grounds around the historic home. For a broader overview of museums in Laramie, you can compare its local-history focus with other museums in town.
